Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
